Spirited Civic Report

Editorial policy

Spirited Civic Report aims to make community life easier to understand, not to speak on behalf of groups or present one local experience as universal. We write with care, check factual details and make our editorial choices visible to readers.

Accuracy and context

We check names, descriptions and factual claims against reliable material available to us, and take care not to turn an example into a rule. Where a subject varies by place or group, we say so. We do not invent people, organisations, events or quotations. Illustrations may be AI-generated; when an image is illustrative rather than documentary, it should not be taken as a record of a real gathering or place.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions remain separate from commercial arrangements. Any sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage, and we do not present paid placements as recommendations.

Corrections

If a reader spots an error, they can contact us through the Contact page and identify the page and detail in question. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted, making significant corrections clear to readers rather than quietly changing the meaning of a story.
